  1. Hi there,

Generally speaking, our pre-releases are released so everyone can preview and test out what’s new before the finishing touches and final rounds of testing are done. Whether it’s solid enough to be used in production depends on your specific use case.

I can recommend trying out the pre-release on a non-production environment first. This way you can find out if the new features will work the way you’re expecting.

  2. Hi there,

It turns out that there are a few changes to the database so when you update to 4.3, there is a database migration which would make it kind of tricky to revert to 4.2.9. You would need to take a backup of the database, then revert back to the database backup, which could result in some data loss if any new registrations came in during the time you ran 4.3.

There are a few options that you can use to get a pre-release up and running on your own personal webserver:

    For Windows/Linux/MacOSX:

    For MacOSX:

  3. Hi,

I’ve been struggling with adding custom meta to the event post type for a while now… I have a couple of meta boxes (e.g. sub-title, call to action button text/url, etc.) I add to every page and post in our site, but can’t seem to hook into the espresso_events post type so these metaboxes display when creating events, venues, etc. I also noticed that Yoast SEO metaboxes are missing, so I assume you’re blocking this somehow.

When you say “New hooks designed to be used with Advanced Custom Fields to allow for custom event content” does this mean I can attach meta with standard the WordPress approach or is this something specific to ACF? I really, really don’t want to have to use ACF to simply add a metabox that already exists and is in use elsewhere on my site.
