I tried to update EE, but I get this error message:

“You have the correct Site License Key for Event Espresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.”

The licence key is assigned to the one and only domain I’m using. Any help on this?

Thanks!

Hi there,

I checked and it looks like the localhost:8888/boardman site was using the same license key recently. The site license key needs to be reset and removed from the dev site before it will work on the live site.

Here’s what I’ll do to help fix this: I’ll create a new key for your account and you can go to your account page and set the new key on your live site.

Ok. Cool. Thanks. So how am I supposed to have one dev version and one live? How can I get the dev site updated?

The dev site can be manually updated:

-or- the dev site can use the license key for auto updates if you push the changes from dev > live with a deployment.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for your help. Sorry I didn’t understand the second option. “if you push the changes from dev > live with a deployment”

Thanks!

Hi,

It is advisable to not use the licence key on the dev server, and to update Event Espresso manually.

If you do want to use it though, when it’s time to make the production site (not the development site) live, then you could update the live site from changes made on the development site (push the changes) via SVN, GIT, etc and SSH.

Obviously it depends on your set up.

If you are not pushing changes like that and merely copying them across via FTP etc then having the licence key on the live site will be the easiest way forward.

It appears that I am having the same or very similar issue. I just purchased the upgrade 3.1.34p and now I am getting the message: You have the correct Site License Key for Event Espresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.

@straycatco, I reset your licence key. Please remove it from your site, save settings, add it back and save settings. If the message has not gone in 24 hours please advise us by starting a new forum thread.
