I received the following message (names changed):

“Hi Shauna, my name is Sheila R. I just registered for the Charleston conference. But something seems weird with the system because the the paid that showing up that says “Congratulations. Your registration has been successfully processed”. It says registrant name’s Sherry A, which is not my name and then it shows to transaction that look like they were declined and then a final one accepted and then when I clicked on view full order confirmation receipt, it’s showing the same thing. It’s showing information for sharing all this which is not me. So I’m just a little bit worried that I might have just somehow paid for somebody else’s registration. I’m not really sure what’s going on, but I’m very confused. I did get a receipt emailed to me with the billing information, but it’s not showing that I was the person who was registered.”

Basically, someone registered but when it got to the confirmation screen it wasn’t her name. It was someone else. I looked in the registration list and Sheila R is nowhere to be found, but Sherry A is in there two times.

She has provided screenshots of what she sees if that will help.

Hi there,

Do you have any chacing plugins enabled on the site, or does your host run server side caching?

Do you have a test event I can run a registration on to see if I can reproduce?

We use Siteground Supercacher, which has dynamic caching as well as static and Memcached. In addition, we use Cloudfare through Siteground.

I don’t have a test event that can be used, but I can set one up if necessary. To our knowledge, though, this is the only instance of it happening.

You’ll need to display the caching for EE pages, does Siteground allow you to specify specific pages to exclude?

If so you can follow the steps here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/

The only reason I can think for another user to see details from another registration is the request from the first registration was cached and server to the second.
