Hello,

Some days ago, while still using EE 3.1.35.2, I noticed the invoice contained some <br> tag code around address details.
Version 3.1.36.1 is supposed to fix this (from change log).

After upgrading to 3.1.36.1, I still get the tags. However, I also still get the default address details of EE:

123 West Somewhere<br/>

which are no longer in the settings.
So it looks like the invoice maker picks up some old data.

Can you help me with this?

That address is not in the organization settings on the general settings page, but is it still in the invoice settings on the payment settings page?

Ah!
That’s right. So that information is used even though the invoice is disabled as a payment gateway?
I have enabled the gateway, updated the invoice details, and disabled the gateway again.
A bit odd, but everything works fine. Even the <br/> tags disappeared now.

Thanks

Even if you don’t have the invoice option active, when you load the payment settings page for the first time, it will populate the invoice ‘pay to’ address with the organisation settings address. It wasn’t really envisioned that users would use the invoicing without the invoice payment setting being enabled. We’ll try to add some code to the plugin activation (runs on update) to update the invoice address.

Thanks Sidney,

Just as a follow-up: issuing invoices (not as a payment method, just as a receipt) is not really a choice, it is active by default. Attendees can download their invoice directly from a link that is in the standard confirmation email they get. Which is right. No matter how they pay, the option of having an invoice is great.

On the other hand, not allowing invoicing as a payment method (offline payment) is a sensible choice in many cases.

Personally I believe the two concepts should be decoupled. Information to be used in the invoice is relative to all payment methods, not to the offline payment only. I find it strange that that information is inside one particular gateway (which can even be disabled and therefore hide the details).

Best regards, Roberto

Yeah, we admit we’re a strange bunch.
