If you import an attendee list to an event, will the registration show up on the individual WP user record? Or does the attendee need to register using the EE reg form?

Hi Heather,

If the attendee already has a registration that shows up on their My events section, then it should show the imported registration.

If it’s a user that has no EE registrations already it won’t show an imported registration until after they registered (as long as the First Name, Last Name and Email address all match exactly).

I can double-check this, but to confirm, have the users already registered onto an event within EE before?

I’m using my email as a test and it’s not showing on my WP user account. I have registered for previous events using EE reg form and it did synch with WP but not on imports.

With the attendee you imported did the First Name, Last Name and Email fields all match exactly when you imported them?

The way the integration works is based on your EE_Contact, when a registration is created it uses the First Name, Last Name and Email fields to search for a current EE_Contact (different from your WP User account). If it finds one, it uses that Contact and links the new registration to it using the ID of the contact, if it doesn’t find one it creates a new one and links the registration to that contact with its ID.

Your WP User account is linked with a contact using it’s ID, so in short when logged in EE does something like:

1. Pull the EE_Contact ID linked with the {current_user_id} (lets say it returned 999)

2. Pull all of the registrations linked to the EE_Contact ID I just received (999)

So all of the above is based on that contact ID being the correct one.

To see if the new registration is linked to a new contact, find that registration in Event Espresso -> Registrations.

In the actions column, click on the icon.

Look at the address bar and find the $post= value, like this:

https://monosnap.com/file/Krfa3hzvhXyqJz3VXxV9YzVXAD0OtE

That’s an example of a contact with ID 62.

Find one of your previous registrations and do the same, what is the post ID there?
