Hello,

Recently EE and Calendar plugins have been upgraded, and event-espresso-core-reg seems to be causing wp-admin page to become blank (checked it via client FTP to deactivate the plugin folder). Please help me with the troubleshooting. Thanks!

Hi there,

Here’s the way to troubleshoot this:

Thanks, Josh.
Will try it first and let you know how things go.

Hello again,

Tried the troubleshooting and the wp-admin displays:
ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If no PHP errors display, you could try logging them:

https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress#Example_wp-config.php_for_Debugging

debug.log showed another plugin was deprecated.
After deactivating that one, still getting HTTP ERROR 500 with event-espresso-core-reg turned on…

Thanks again for your help!

Do you see any PHP fatal errors in the log from when you activate Event Espresso 4? If not, then can you check with your host to see if they can find the underlying issue?

Thanks, Josh.

There was no php fatal errors. Will be in touch with the host and let you know what I find.

Hello,

The host provider could not go further as they think it is a plugin issue…

They suggested uninstalling and installing ee. Would it affect the database? Please let me know. Thank you.

It doesn’t have to affect the database. You can go to WP > Plugins, deactivate and delete the plugin there (no data will be deleted, only files and folder that contain PHP/CSS/JavaScript code will be deleted).

Then you download a fresh copy of Event Espresso from your account page and use the Add new plugin installer option on the WordPress > Plugins page.

Thank you for the instruction, Josh.
It was reinstalled, but still no go on the admin login page. Please let me know if there is something else to try…

If you deactivate EE4 manually (by renaming the plugin folder), then log in, then visit the WP Settings > Permalinks page, does it throw any errors there?

You can also try this guide (while Event Espresso is deactivated)
http://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/how-to-fix-the-internal-server-error-in-wordpress

After following the steps in the guide you can try reactivating Event Espresso 4.

Hi Josh,

Thank you for all the suggestions, but still get HTTP ERROR 500… I even reinstalled wordpress files. Please let me know if you have more suggestions.

Thanks again,

Tony

Hi there,

Did you try what Josh posted above?

If you deactivate EE4 manually (by renaming the plugin folder), then log in, then visit the WP Settings > Permalinks page, does it throw any errors there?

If so, what happened on that step? Same error?

You can also try this clearing all of the Cron tasks from the database by following this guide:
