I’m using EE4 and am looking for a slider that will pull an Event Category’s Featured Image into it – and allow for links to the first 6-8 events that are in that category. The events links could be created manually via an ‘excerpt’ that would show over the Category’s Featured Image. I’ve been messing around with SlideDeck2 – but it seems that its not really pulling from Categories – just from Events.

Hi there,
Another idea would be to use the Meteor Slides plugin and create a slideshow. Each slide can have one featured image and then would link to an Espresso event category archive page. When you add a new Meteor slide it asks you for a slide link, which is where you’d place the link to the event category’s archive. The category archive URL would look like:
http://yoursite.com/event-category/category-slug
As an example, if your website is the-super-duper-co.com and your event category’s slug is “awesome” the slide link would be:
http://the-super-duper-co.com/event-category/awesome
