Hi folks
I am having trouble trying to get EE4 to do this and I am pretty sure its possible!

So we have workshop days at work that are a day of sessions where people can come in to learn technology. Generally most people would register for 1, 2 and sometimes 3-4 sessions.

So I created an overall event called Skill Power (the name of the workshop) and created individual date times for the sessions. And even tried assigning tickets to each event but it doesn’t seem to work.

Example here: http://svrc.vic.edu.au/pd/ (the top one is the Skill Power I’m trying to get to work.

Also what I want is for each date time to not show the full year, so just the time for each session as we should already know the date as that’s the date of the overall event.

So how can I get this to work?

Cheers, Glen

Hi Glen,

So we have workshop days at work that are a day of sessions where people can come in to learn technology. Generally most people would register for 1, 2 and sometimes 3-4 sessions.

You would need to create 5 datetimes, 1 for the overall event and then 1 for each session, then create tickets for each of those datetimes.

You can assign a ticket to a specific datetime by clicking on the cog icon for the ticket and selecting the datetime, like this – http://take.ms/dGT7Q

This sounds like what you tried to do here:

So I created an overall event called Skill Power (the name of the workshop) and created individual date times for the sessions. And even tried assigning tickets to each event but it doesn’t seem to work.

But what is not working?

Also what I want is for each date time to not show the full year, so just the time for each session as we should already know the date as that’s the date of the overall event.

This can be done but currently it would be a global change across all your events, I’m assuming you wouldn’t want that?

Hey Tony
Thanks for all your help – I really appreciate it!

So what’s not working with regard to the above as that when you go into the even it shows the free tickets and quantities then underneath it shows the sessions, how can I get it to show which event you are booking the tickets for? Like I can guess that the top ticket would match the first event but I want it to be really obvious for the people making the bookings.

So it should show: Excel With Jaws, then ticket quantity or something similar for each session. Can this easily be done?

Thanks again so much!

Cheers, Glen

Unless I’m misunderstanding the question, you would do that with the Ticket Name but it seems you’ve already done that – http://take.ms/44VaQ

and you’ve done the same with each ticket?

You could also remove the datetimes completely from the single event view and add the date/time to the ticket name if you prefer?

So it should show: Excel With Jaws, then ticket quantity or something similar for each session. Can this easily be done?

My apologies but I’m not sure I understand what it is your trying to achieve as the event currently shows what you are requesting, have you changed this since? Right now your users can register onto individual sessions and the attendee limits should be monitored using the Datetime limits if you have setup the ticket as described as above.

The ‘Excel with JAWS’ ticket has its own qty user can select right now, is that now what you are looking for?

Hi Tony
Please accept my apology – last night before going to bed I realised that I’d be able to edit ticket names – for some reason I hadn’t tried that so I got it to work as you have said above. i should have then updated this support forum so apologies for not doing so.

Thanks again for your help. Event Espresso is a great product and I do really appreciate the helpful support I get from you.

Though I have a bit of a learning curve with parts of it but our site has gone live now so no doubt I’ll have more questions!

Thanks again!
Cheers, Glen
