Customer gets 2 Mails
1. Awaiting Payment after buying a ticket
showing link of the event and event details and participant name

2. Invoice and Payment Details
Here is nearly the same but confusing, as it is shown event link again and ticket details followed by a link which is saying – pay now

If i follow this link I get to the same Ticket which I already bought to buy it again, nothing else.

How it is possible to get straight information with Invoice and bank details by this mail and link?
The whole system seems to have a lot of confusing details, as we stopped to work on it a while. Now after the latest update there seems to mixed up some things… I struggle to follow the logic…

So this template “Registration awaits Payment” has [PAYMENT_URL] which does lead to the page to buy same ticket again. We cannot see what the logic is.
I do not find a good tutorial or overview for messages, all I found is a summary very abstract. The Workflow is not only confusing our customers… One email should be enough.
None of our customer wants approval emails about every single step. But the very core information about Invoice and Band Details in the first place.
How can I give an Invoice by attachement or LINK? What is the meaning [PAYMENT_URL] do in your workflow process – makes no sense for us. What is happening at this step, when the customer gets on the page when he already ordered a ticket and should buy again? Or is this step not additional ticket but for info? How can I know what happens in the different messages workflow. We did work on this in the past and wether we lost our configuration throug update or we never understood this toolbox….

Hi there,

So this template “Registration awaits Payment” has [PAYMENT_URL] which does lead to the page to buy same ticket again. We cannot see what the logic is.

It’s to allow for future payments on the transaction.

For example if the user selects Invoice/Bank transfer and finalizes the registration, then decides to pay via an online payment method (PayPal for example) they can use that link to pay for the registration.

That’s not the only use case, but just one.

The user should only received the pending payment email if they finalize the registration without payment in full for the amount owing.

I do not find a good tutorial or overview for messages, all I found is a summary very abstract. The Workflow is not only confusing our customers… One email should be enough.

It all depends on how your events are set up.

None of our customer wants approval emails about every single step.

They should receive an email for every step, but again it depends on your setup.

Can you link us to an event we can use for test registrations to view how you have this set up?

How can I give an Invoice by attachement or LINK?

You can’t add the invoice as an attachment but to include a link directly to the Invoice you can use the [INVOICE_LINK].

What is happening at this step, when the customer gets on the page when he already ordered a ticket and should buy again? Or is this step not additional ticket but for info?

Which payment method are you using?

The user registers onto the ticket and selects a payment method. If its an offline payment method and the user has not actually paid any monies through the system we must give the user the opportunity to pay at a later date, that is the intention of the link.

We did work on this in the past and wether we lost our configuration throug update or we never understood this toolbox….

We have not changed the way messages function within EE, it all just depends on your event set up.
