Any idea why I’m receiving 404 not found error messages except when I’m logged in as an administrator using WordPress 5.4 with Event Espresso 3? I didn’t have this issue before upgrading my WordPress version. I have tried disabling all plugins except Event Espresso 3, but that didn’t fix my problem. I’ve also re-saved the permalink settings, but that didn’t help either. Everything works fine when you’re logged in as an admin, but it produces a 404 error when not logged in or logged in as a normal user.

Hi there,

It sounds like the event registration is not public.

If you go to {domain}/?page_id=18680

Or {domain}/event-registration/

In the admin bar click edit page.

What is the status and visibility set on that page?

Further to above, you’ll need to make sure the event-registration page on your site is published and not set to any other status like Private, Draft, or in the Trash.

Everything is setup correctly. It just quit working recently, and disabling all of my plugins in a test environment didn’t help.

Status: Draft
Visibility: Public

Admin can view the page… no one else can.

Hi,

When the page’s status is Draft, only admins will see the page. Everyone else will get a 404 error. You will need to go in and edit the event-registration page and click the “Publish” button.

Strange, I have no idea how it was moved into a draft status. I never touched a thing. Is it possible that WordPress updates changed the status?

It claims to have been published before (and it most certainly was).

That was when it was last published, so I have no idea how it ended up in a draft status.

I’m not aware of anything related to updating WordPress that would change a page’s post status from “published” to “draft”.

You could check with the other website admins to see if someone else may have been making edits to that page.
