When setting up an event there are multiple (302!) fields for start and end time. There is a similar issue with the ticket fields, of which there are a similar amount. They are pre-filled in with different ticket options. I would much appreciate your help in sorting this issue out. |
Hi there, The multiple prices/times issue is caused by using an older version of EE3 with the latest versions of WordPress. WP introduced some security feature which EE needed to be updated to work with, if you use an older version of EE those fixes are not available and it causes this problem. Which version of EE3 do you currently have installed on the site? To fix this the additional incorrect prices (and times) need to be removed from the database to allow new events to be created. I can provide details on how to do this or if you prefer we can do it form you? If you prefer for us to do it can you send temporary login details using this form: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ (Note we will need to install a plugin so both wp admin and FTP details are required) |

Thank you for your quick reply. Our version of EE is: Event Registration and Ticketing Powered by Event Espresso – 3.1.36.5.P I assume the Version 4.6.1 refers to WordPress, but you will know better. I would be grateful for you to remove what is causing the issue. How long would this take and would it affect how we and our members can use the website whilst it is being done? How do I find the wp admin and FTP details that you require? |
You’ll need to update to the latest version of EE3 to prevent this from happening further, the latest version is 3.1.37.11.P That is WordPress version 4.6.1, the latest version of is 4.7 and I would recommend updating.
It doesn’t take very long and will not have an effect on your users, you will not be able to create new events whilst we fixes this… but you can’t create new events anyway π
For the wp admin account just create a new administrator account and add the user name and password used to create the user to the form I link to. For FTP details if you don’t already have them you may need to contact your hosting provider and have them send you them. Also I’d recommend creating a backup of the site before moving forward just to be safe, I’m assuming you already create backups? |

Thank you for all your help. We are updating to the latest versions and I expect this to sort out the issue. Should it persist I will come back to you. |
Updating won’t fix the problem with multiple prices/times it will just prevent new ones from being created in the database. The current incorrect prices/times need to be removed from the database to allow the latest version to work correctly, however to do that we need the above details π |

Thank you Tony. I have sent the details to you using the link you provided. Please do let me know if there are any issues. |
Hi there, The multiple fields for start and end time and ticket prices have been removed. Please be sure to update to the current version of Event Espresso 3, which is currently version Event Espresso v3.1.37.11.P. It looks like the site administration has disabled 1-click updates, so they’ll probably need to manually update the plugins. |

Hello, We have updated WP and EE and are having issues registering attendees, both from the back end and the front end. Our support claims to have updated the plugins but I can see a messages they can’t see. Please help! |
You can disregard the message about the ATOS gateway, unless if you were actually using the ATOS gateway. May I ask what are the issues you are having with registering attendees? |
|
|
Thank you Josh for your quick reply |
This would not be due to ATOS, ATOS was a payment gateway. May I ask what happened when you tried to register on the back end? |
|
|
When I click the button Add Attendee, it brings up an empty page. |
OK I took a look at the site and what’s happened was whomever updated your site neglected to update the custom_functions.php that was set up in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/ folder. I went in and deactivated that file by renaming it, and you can now add registrations. The person that’s responsible for maintaining those customizations can go back and update the changes in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/custom-functions.php file so the customizations are compatible with the current version of Event Espresso 3. |

Thank you! |

Hi, I am afraid the problem persists. I have forwarded your response to our IT guys, and they say they’ve done it, but the page still shows up blank. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you. |
Whatever they did broke it again, because it was working after I renamed that file so it wouldn’t load, and the page wasn’t blank anymore. |
|
|
Yes, I’m sure your are right. Would you please do the same thing again so it’s working for me. I will have a chat with them about breaking your fix, and to not do it again π Thank you! |
/wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/custom_functions.php has been renamed to custom_functions-deactivated.php (again). If they go back and reactivate it, the blank page you saw will happen again. They’ll need to review their code, make the appropriate fixes, and test before reactivating that file. |

Thank you, Josh. I have forwarded your response to our IT guys, who will hopefully not mess it up a second time. |
