Will resetting message templates affect custom templates?

Hi, In trying to figure out why images are missing from the Order Confirmation, I came across the recommendation to reset message templates for EE4 after upgrading from Decaf, which is something I had overlooked when upgrading. I have already created some custom message templates, and I am wondering three things:
1. Will resetting the default message templates solve the problem of the missing images, since the URL indicates they are located within the event-espresso-decaf folder?
2. Will the custom message templates that I already created be affected if I reset the default message templates?
3. Do I need to create new custom templates since they were made from copies of the default templates?

Hi there,

1. Will resetting the default message templates solve the problem of the missing images, since the URL indicates they are located within the event-espresso-decaf folder?

If you now have the ‘regular’ version of EE then yes, resetting the template will fix them (but only on the specific template you reset), however, you can also just manually edit the template if you prefer.

There’s only 4 locations those images should load in each Receipt template.

One in the EVENT_LIST section – http://take.ms/3mvoV (Make sure you are in Text mode)

Three in the TICKET_LIST section – http://take.ms/CjgyD

2. Will the custom message templates that I already created be affected if I reset the default message templates?

No, when you create a custom template, it creates a copy of the current default and sets it as a custom template, do you have custom versions of the Invoice and Receipt templates?

3. Do I need to create new custom templates since they were made from copies of the default templates?

You can, or just manually fix the links in those custom templates, depending on the changs you’ve made it may be quicker to fix them than re-create.
