Will I lose files if I update?

I cannot log in due to a Parse Error. I am going to update the plug-in through FTP. If I do this will I lose my 200+ attendee files and data? Any suggestions.

You shouldn’t lose any data (attendees and events etc.) that lives in the database. If you made any changes the core plugin files, then those may be lost. So you may want to create a backup of those files.
