Why 2 product versions (EE3 / EE4)? Differences in EE4 licenses

I have 2 questions:
First: You are developing and offering 2 different product versions (EE3 and EE4). I’m in doubt if you can offer premium quality for both versions in future. Why do you do this?
Second: What are the differences between the EE4 Everything and the Personal Licence except the non included add-ons.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso.

There are two versions as when we began adding new features into EE3.2 (it was never released), it became clear that it would be beneficial to both ourselves and our customers to re-write EE3 from the ground up. This became the next generation of the plugin, EE4.

EE3 is still being supported for the foreseeable future, but we are limiting that to bug fixes and general support. It will be unlikely that many, if any, new features will be added to EE3.

EE4 is continually being updated with fixes and features, and new addons.

EE3 is still a fully featured piece of stable software and a lot of users are happy with that, but we intend EE3 to eventually become legacy and EE4 to be the main focus going forward.

Regarding the EE4 Everything and Personal licences, it does simply come down to the available addons: the everything licence provides you with access to all the available addons, the Personal licence does not – it is more of an A La Carte option, where you can pick and choose the specific addons you need, if any.
