I’m looking for a system with the following features. Can you tell me which features your system has, which ones it doesn’t, and any ideas of how to get the features that are missing?

1. Individual user accounts and logins

2. List records visible by the participant and the administrator of which classes each user has registered and paid for, and which they paid for but never attended.

3. Ability for participants to exchange classes that they have not yet taken or that they missed (so they don’t have to call up and ask to switch classes)

4. Ability of participant to print a copy from their account of a certificate and/or “official” transcript of what they have attended.

5. Ability to calculate how many credits (and specific types) that they have taken within a given time frame and how many they still need.

6. Process for participants to upload information or certificates from classes they take with other companies so that they can store it in one place. – (Extra perk – if the system could fill out a particular licensing form uploaded by the administrator.

7. Post online classes, online tests, and certificates, and sell these classes on the site.

8. Method for paying class teachers or class content writers through the system

9. Ability of participants to “exchange” information or start discussions. Some kind of social networking/forum function.

10. Social networking buttons related to all items, linking to the network/forum discussions.

Hey there,

Thank you for contacting us! We appreciate your interest in Event Espresso.

First off, Event Espresso was designed to allow users to post events to their website to allow customers to purchase tickets/registrations. With that said, EE does not have much of the functionality you require, because it does not have a lot of the social functionality you are looking for. Please see my answers below.

1. Individual user accounts and logins

You will need a membership plugin like s2member or MemberPress for this.

2. List records visible by the participant and the administrator of which classes each user has registered and paid for, and which they paid for but never attended.

We have the functionality for allowing users to view their classes on the front-end of your site with the WP User Integration add-on for EE3. This is a feature that is coming to EE4, but I don’t have an estimated time of completion at this time. Also, administrators can view that information from the EE dashboard, per event, but not per student.

3. Ability for participants to exchange classes that they have not yet taken or that they missed (so they don’t have to call up and ask to switch classes)

EE does not have this functionality, nor do I know of a plugin that will do this.

4. Ability of participant to print a copy from their account of a certificate and/or “official” transcript of what they have attended.

EE does not have this functionality, nor do I know of a plugin that will do this. One of our Pro-Developers may be able to create a custom add-on for this.

5. Ability to calculate how many credits (and specific types) that they have taken within a given time frame and how many they still need.

EE does not have this functionality, nor do I know of a plugin that will do this. One of our Pro-Developers may be able to create a custom add-on for this.

6. Process for participants to upload information or certificates from classes they take with other companies so that they can store it in one place. – (Extra perk – if the system could fill out a particular licensing form uploaded by the administrator.

EE does not have this functionality, nor do I know of a plugin that will do this. One of our Pro-Developers may be able to create a custom add-on for this.

7. Post online classes, online tests, and certificates, and sell these classes on the site.

With EE, you can post classes, but testing and certificates will be separate functionality not included in EE.

8. Method for paying class teachers or class content writers through the system

This is not possible with EE. You will need to issue payments through your payment gateway provider.

9. Ability of participants to “exchange” information or start discussions. Some kind of social networking/forum function.

You will need a plugin like BBPress or BuddyPress for social functionality.

10. Social networking buttons related to all items, linking to the network/forum discussions.

You will need a plugin like BBPress or BuddyPress for social functionality.

What you are needing is a very custom solution, which unfortunately EE cannot provide in house. I recommend contacting one of our Pro-Developers to see if they can help with any aspect of your requirements.
