Version WordPress: 4.8–fr_FR
Version PHP: 5.6.26
Version MonSQL 5.5.5
Version Event Espresso : 4.9.40.p

Dears,

I don’t see on my account page the “JSON API add-on” I need for Event Espresso HD app.

I have an EE4 Everything License.

Thank you in advance for your help.
Kind regards

Hi there,

There is no JSON API Add-on for EE4 (its for EE3) and the Event Espresso HD is is also for EE3, as you have an EE4 licsense I’m assuming you are using EE4?

You do not need another add-on for EE4, it uses the REST API that is included within WP Core.

The apps you want for EE4 are:

Android – http://evts.io/EE4_Android_App

Apple – http://evts.io/EE4_Apple_App

More info here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-event-apps/

Hi Tony,

Ok, I understand πŸ˜‰

I have an EE4 license, use EE4 on the website and have the EE4 app !

I have install Application Passwords = ok.

Yet I have on the app the following message when I try to connect (with my WP user + Application Passowrd):
Connection error. Unable to load data

CGI + FCGI on server = ok.

Any idea ?

Hi Josh,

So I add on my .taccess file the following code:

# Begin Custom htaccess
SetEnvIf Authorization "(.*)" HTTP_AUTHORIZATION=$1
# End Custom htaccess

πŸ™
Connection error. Unable to load data

The Event Espresso JSON API is now included in Event Espresso core. Any older Event Espresso JSON API plugins need to be deactivated.

???
Tony tell me that “There is no JSON API Add-on for EE4 (its for EE3)” …

So I don’t understand anything πŸ™

Event Espresso 4 includes the JSON API in the core plugin, so that’s why the troubleshooting guide says don’t use an add-ons. You can see the EE JSON API response for your site by going to

www.yoursite.info/wp-json/ee/v4.8.36/events

In the above, you change yoursite to match your site’s domain

The problem is there’s a connection error between your website and the app. This can be caused by a number of different things including the server’s configuration, other plugins, there’s even been a report of some code within the active WordPress theme. If you’ve stepped through the mobile app troubleshooting guide and still get the connection error, you can also try the general troubleshooting guide:

πŸ™
The problem come from the iThemes Security plugin !
Quite “normal”, but I need to use this plugin.

So any idea of the problem setting ?

Ok, I found it !

System Tweaks > only “check” on the 2 first boxes.

We specifically mention how to deactivate the Filter Long URL Strings option for the iThemes security plugin in the documentation:
