I’m trying to enable a course registration system that allows users to select 5 day blocks of classes from Monday to Friday for the 10 weeks between June 15 and Aug 21. Each week long class needs to be limited to 6 registrations. I want to disable registration 7 days before the class starts, allow a flat $100 deposit to be made and full payment option upon checkout. Does your plugin allow for these requirements? Which version should I be looking at, 3 or 4? Does EE integrate with woo commerce? |
Hi Steve, Here is feedback on your questions for your project:
If these classes are pre-selected as in they are a full course, then Event Espresso 3 will be able to handle that. The attendee limit option in the event editor will also be able restrict each class to 6 registrants/attendees. The registration and event time can be scheduled separately of each other so you could have registration end one week before the course begins. Partial payments or deposits are not currently supported. One way of handling this would be to have the initial deposit be the default pricing option — then create a duplicate event that would handle the remaining balance for the event. You could then post a link to the pay the balance in the event description area for the original event. This will ensure that you have accurate records for the attendee limit on the original event. If you try to handle both pricing options in one event, then you’ll hit the attendee limit early as students register and pay the deposit and then come back later and pay the balance. If there is a possibility that a student may want register for multiple classes (multiple weeks) at once, then the multiple registration add-on will be able to help with that.
Event Espresso and WooCommerce can be used on the same site but we do not offer an integration with WooCommerce. — |

Lorenzo, 1) So if i enable 2 prices, say a “deposit” price and a “full” price, and limit registration/payment to 6 then either payment is seen as fulfilling one of those slots? 2) Is there a suggested workaround for this? Like a way to manually send an invoice or update the availability as the slots are filled? For example, limit the available slots to 6. Then, once either partial full payments are received manually go back and adjust the availability by the number of partial payments received and generate an invoice for the remaining full balances? 3) What about a solution for EE4? Create 6 deposit tickets 6 full price tickets but limit the attendance to 6 and then come back and forward invoices on to the users that only bought deposit tickets to the event as the class fills? |
Hi Steve, here is additional feedback:
Yes, each time a registration occurs, then a spot will be taken. If a deposit was made and then later a registrant came back to register for the full pricing option (to pay the balance), then that would be 2 registrations that would could against the attendee limit (2/6). You could certainly update the attendee limit to increase the availability but this would be a manual process. If you are using PayPal, then you could also invoice the students directly and then credit them in the attendee record screen. 3) What about a solution for EE4? Create 6 deposit tickets 6 full price tickets but limit the attendance to 6 and then come back and forward invoices on to the users that only bought deposit tickets to the event as the class fills? This could work but registering for multiple courses at once is not available. If a student will only be registering for one course (one week), then that will work. However, if they need multiple weeks (e.g. week two and week four), then they would need to register for those separately. Hope that helps! — |
