Right now we have problems updating our current Event Espresso Version:
Version 4.10.41.p
If we try to update the Plugin we get the white Screen of Death and in consequence have to start from Scratch again.
In order to get a overview of the problem we have now made a WordPress Instance in a Subdomain of ours.
But the Problem is that the licence does not allow this.
How can we isolate and look in to our problem without problems in the productive environment?
Is there a workaround for us?
Install Event Espresso on your subdomain and remove the license key from that install. EE will, for the most part, function in the same way as it does on live.
You’ll need to update that site manually as new versions come out:
If we try to update the Plugin we get the white Screen of Death and in consequence have to start from Scratch again.
To note, a white screen of death means there is a fatal error being thrown, and to troubleshoot that, you need to get the error itself (usually in the server error logs or you enable WP_DEBUG for it to be output to the page).
I’m unsure precisely what you mean by starting from scratch, but you should NOT need to wipe any data to fix the above. Reinstalling your original version would generally get the site back up and running.
