Hi there

I’m building my first events site using EE4 latest version. I’ve built over 200 WP sites.

1. Can we hide step 1 login from along the top of the registration steps as although its greyed out and the user is auto taken to step 2 attendee information it might confuse people? If it can be hidden then step 2 needs to become step 1 and payments needs to become step 2.

or is there a single page checkout we can use?

2. We are using stripe and Ive just tried in stripe settings to not ask for name and billing address as when it was enabled the user had to enter all that info in the reg form and then AGAIN in the stripe popup?

So is there a way to send the address to stripe for verification direct from the reg form without having to enter it twice?

If we turn it off does that mean stripe cannot verify the zip code with the bank?

3. Last quick question… When i checked the payment in stripe (im in test mode) I could only see the customers email address so again is that because ive disabled the name and address in stripe payment plugin…

Thank you so much

just learning my way around and only two more weeks to get this site live 🙂

Hi there,

1. Can we hide step 1 login from along the top of the registration steps as although its greyed out and the user is auto taken to step 2 attendee information it might confuse people? If it can be hidden then step 2 needs to become step 1 and payments needs to become step 2.

The login step is added by the EE4 WP user Integration add-on which it sounds like you don’t need.

Do you require users to log into the site to register?

or is there a single page checkout we can use?

The checkout page with the multiple steps is our version of single page checkout (SPCO for short) however I’m assuming you mean with all of the steps on a single page load? If so that’s currently not available within EE.

2. We are using stripe and Ive just tried in stripe settings to not ask for name and billing address as when it was enabled the user had to enter all that info in the reg form and then AGAIN in the stripe popup?

The payment can, and often is, different from registrant information so we don’t pass those details over.

So is there a way to send the address to stripe for verification direct from the reg form without having to enter it twice?

I don’t believe so but I’ll check with the developers to confirm.

If we turn it off does that mean stripe cannot verify the zip code with the bank?

That’s correct.

3. Last quick question… When i checked the payment in stripe (im in test mode) I could only see the customers email address so again is that because ive disabled the name and address in stripe payment plugin…

Yes.

Hi Tony
Thank you for replying.

Great I disabled the User Plugin and now we have just 1 > 2 steps 🙂

We don’t need user registration as most customer only ever attend one event and don’t come back. We will use the People plugin for coaches/teachers.

As we don’t deliver products billing address will always be the same so can we enable capture name and billing in Stripe and then disable the address fields in the reg form to save the customer from having to fill it out twice.

This would mean we wouldn’t be able to see any addresses in the WordPress dashboard and only in stripe.

Last quick question on Reg form validation. I know you dont yet offer conditional fields but do you know of any code snippets people have created so that we can show/hide fields based on what has been chosen from a yes/no field before them. Or if cant show hide make them required/not required…

Thank you for your help so far.

Hi, after much tinkering with Stripe I decided to try the Braintree plugin as heard its much like Stripe and run by Paypal. This works much better with the payment fields auto filled from the EE name and address fields and embedding in the page rather than the stripe popup! great 🙂

Josh has previously provided an example of how you can do this here:

I’m glad Braintree is working well for you.
