Dear EE,

We have Event Espresso running since purchase without getting any updates. WordPress does not install EE updates and gives errors like:

An error occurred while updating Event Espresso: Update package not available..

You did not reply to our last support request! So please fix this issue ASAP. We have hundreds of plugins working just fine and this one gives us a headache.

THANKS!
EMstudios

Hello,

I have reset your licence as it may well be down to the licence issues we have been seeing whilst we modify our licencing system.

Please remove your licence key from the General Settings, Save and then reinsert and Save.

If this does not kick in with the automated updates, please advise.

Hi,

Sorry I should have asked this previously, but what version of event espresso are you updating from? Have you tried a manual update?

The licence key has not become active in our back end, so please check it and give it some time to communicate. You can check this yourself as well by logging into your account page here.

Until today, I always manually updated the system as it did not go automatically. I currently have Event Espresso – 3.1.27.P

We’ll wait a couple of hours.

BTW, it looks there is no updated key in my account. Anyway, I copied it to the system.

Hi

OK keep me updated please. The key doesnt always change, but once our system links to your site (when the key is entered on your site) it will show the web address of the site.

OK, found out that I added a space in the licence code. Now it’s active though now I get the following error:

An error occurred while updating Event Espresso: Download failed. Service Unavailable.

Pls revert.

Thanks!!!

Hi there,

The developer of the Plugin Update Engine took a look at your site and what it looks like at this point is the host is not allowing a URL redirect for the download, or another plugin that has auto-update functionality that is not tied to WordPress.org may be creating a conflict. Here are the notes he attached to the support ticket:

> We’ve been able to determine with some users installs that our
> automatic update system is working correctly, however, their WordPress
> install is not allowing the redirect to the url we send back pointing
> to the file hosted on Amazon’s servers.
>
> The reason this happens is most likely because there is another plugin
> installed that also hooks into the WordPress update system and is
> modifying the ‘redirection’ argument which is the amount of times a
> script follow a redirect before giving up. Another possibilty is that
> the server your site is hosted on is limiting the type of redirects
> allowed.
>
> What we suggest if you are experiencing this issue, is try
> deactivating any plugins that you have installed which have their own
> updating mechanism (i.e. automatic updates not coming from
> WordPress.org). You may find this will allow you to update EE. We will
