An automatic WordPress Update occurred while I was out-of-town for a couple of weeks and it appears to have created an issue with our Event Espresso Registration Process. We’re getting a Warning message displayed on the registration page as well as a whole slew of Warning messages display when someone tries to register.

Does this sound like something that would be fixed with the most current EE Upgrade 3.1.29?

If so, should I back up the site (as usually recommended) since we have this issue. I backed up everything on Nov 20, 2012 prior to Updating EE’s last Upgrade.

I appreciate your guidance on this.

Yes. This is what a large part of the 3.1.29 update fixes (along with a lot of other things).

You should always back up before making any updates to your site, whether you are updating Event Espresso or WordPress or another plugin.

We were successful in backing up whole site and updating to the new version of Event Espresso without a hitch. Very smooth.
