Waiting List – When counter decrease?

I am using this useful feature.
I would ask some clarification on how it works and when the wait list “start”.

In my scenario I have an event with 50 available seats.
Default registration status is Pending Payment.

When my customers start to book, their registrations are in Pending Payment.

Does the waiting list module count as “not available” the seats in pending payment status.
Example I have 50 pending payment registration, should the waiting list module activate the wait list?

It seems not.

Could you please clarify the workflow?

Hi there,

Does the waiting list module count as “not available” the seats in pending payment status.

No, only ‘Approved’ registrations apply to the event.

Example I have 50 pending payment registration, should the waiting list module activate the wait list?

No, because the waitlist feature shows when the event is sold out.

Pending payment registrations don’t count towards the ‘sold’ values of an event, meaning those registrations don’t cause the event to be sold out.

Are you expecting the first 50 registrations to take spaces regardless of their payment status? If so you want to use a ‘Default Registration Status’ setting of Approved.

If you let me know how you are expecting this to work I can advise how to set up the event (if possible).

Thank you Tony.
Use a ‘Default Registration Status’ setting of Approved prevent the possibility to get the online payment. It that true?

I think you should think to add the pending approval in waiting list management in order to keep the online payment feature.

Many Thanks

No, what makes you think that?

A Default Registration Status (DRS for short) of Approved means that all registrations, regardless of their payment status, will be set to Approved when the user finalizes the registrations by selecting a payment method and clicking to finalize.

Online payment method automatically Approve registration when payment is made.

Offline payment methods (by default) just apply the DRS you have set on the event.

I think you should think to add the pending approval in waiting list management in order to keep the online payment feature.

We are not going to add registration with a status of Pending Payment to the Waitlist calculations, simply because you can have MANY registrations that are pending payment on an event, they don’t matter until they pay and become Approved.

If you let me know how you want registrations to work, I can let you know how to set up EE to suit your use case.

You are right!
Even if I set DRS to approved, the customer land on payment page.
So issue closed, I don’t need anymore pending payment status
