Wait list question

Hello, I need to be able to offer people to sign up for a waitlist. I followed the directions and created an event waitlist and connected it with the appropriate event. The problem is that when you go to the URL for that event, it says “check for waitlist” but does not redirect them to the wait list. Did I miss something?
