Event Espresso – 3.1.33.3.P
Volume Discount Plugin – Version 0.4
MER – Version 1.0.4

I have installed and set up the Volume Discount Plugin.

It works great on the cart pages, applies the relevany discount against the cart total, shows discount amount and reduced total.

However, after entering registrant details and you get to the payment page just before making payment, it completely changes the way the discount is calculated which in turn slightly changes the amounts.

It applies a percentage of the discounted amount to each individual registrant, reducing the value of each individual ticket in the price breakdown. This then results in the figures being slightly out albeit by a few pence either way.

Is it not possible to keep the discount amount and the way it is calculated the same as it does on the cart page which is perfect and it ensure consistency once the user gets to the payment page.

Please advise if this is possible or am I missing something obvious in the settings?

Thanks,

FRANK

Hi Frank,

I tried testing this out on one of my test sites and couldn’t reproduce. It may be the ticket price and discount amounts I’m using though. Can you let us know what the ticket prices and discount amounts are so we can look into this further?

Hi Josh,

Thanks for looking on to this issue and trying to replicate it.

The scenario and details are as follows;

I have 2 ticket types/prices for each event.
Adult Ticket at EUR8.00
Child Ticket at EUR14.00

The volume discount is set at a ‘fixed dollar rate’ of EUR28.00 off when they spend EUR320 or more.

As mentioned, works great in the cart, just takes the amount off the total but then on the payment page takes a percentage of the discount off each individual ticket.

I am using MER and the verions of all the plugins as follows;

Event Espresso – 3.1.33.3.P
Volume Discount Plugin – Version 0.4
MER – Version 1.0.4

If you need them I can give you the URL and access to the Admin area, let me know how I can PM you the user details if you do need them.

Thanks again,

FRANK

Hi Frank,

It’s not necessary send any site specific details. The discount settings were sufficient. It’s not currently possible to have the amount shopping cart page match the amount on the payment overview page when the discount is based on the total dollar value. (In my tests it’s off by 5 cents for the total.) I’ve created a ticket outlining how to reproduce this issue for the dev team to review. I’ll post any updates in this thread.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the update.

Even when I select the discount by number of registrants, it does exactly the same, applies the discount across every ticket and the totals are out.

If the discount was just applied to the cart total like on the shopping cart page that would work perfect and not cause any confusion to users either.

Hopefully the dev team will be able to address this and get it working soon. Unfortunately, as it stands it is not usable and we will probably have to launch the site without being able to offer the volume discount as a result.

Thanks,

FRANK

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll update this thread with any new information on this issue after the dev team discusses it.

Hi Frank,

The issue is still outstanding, it has however been marked important.
