Hello, |
Hi Trevor, Can you let us know which version of Event Espresso you are using on this new site? Thanks. |

|
Yeah, it’s the latest of version 3. But I am willing to work it out. This is still by far the best tool for the job and worth the troubleshooting. |
Hi Trevor, I’ve mentioned this before, but it bears repeating. If you’re trying to run a business website, where you need mission critical stuff to work, it’s best to avoid Themeforest themes. You’ll save yourself a lot of grief. I’ll follow up with your list below:
90% of the time this is caused by the theme, and you can verify this by switching to any theme from the wordpress.org theme directory. There are thousands of them there, and the Event Espresso editor works perfectly with all of them. Some folks that are using Event Espresso 3 have installed this plugin and have said it fixed the issue for them when they use themes from Themeforest.
Can you let us know what the error code is? Have you checked with Moneris? Usually something like this isn’t fixed by changing any code within Event Espresso, however it may help to speed up the loading of the Transactions page by using a simplified page template if the communication between Moneris and your server is slow to respond. The same steps to set up a simplified transaction page that apply to PayPal apply also to Moneris:
Have you tried switching to one of the themes from wordpress.org? If that does not a difference please let us know. |

1) What makes themeforest themes so unworthy? They are developed (and supported) by different people. Is this a generalization or what makes them so different then other places to obtain themes? Where do you suggest one should be looking for themes? 2) Yes, we have established that it is the theme and EE conflicting. I will look into the plugin you linked to but that will only (potentially) help one of my two issues. 3) I have already loaded the simplified page on all of my sites. There is no error code on those transactions mentioned. The code shown says the same as the successful ones. |
Hi Trevor, I’ll follow up with each of your questions below:
What makes most Themeforest themes so different is instead of just being a theme, they are themes that end up having a lot of plugin and other non-theme functionality built in. This basically makes for themes that cause conflicts and do a bunch of stuff that you can’t deactivate without removing a bunch of code from your themes. There is more discussion about this here: http://slobodanmanic.com/321/buying-themeforest-insane/ Hopefully, as Themeforest rolls out their new theme submission standards things will improve, but these new standards are only getting applied to new themes for now. There are many good places to get top quality themes a few are: Woothemes along with the above options, there are over 2400 themes we can recommend, that you can download for free here:
We’d love to help you sort out your other issue. Can you elaborate?
Since the code shown says the same as the successful ones, the next step is to look at the PHP error log at those times to see if any errors were thrown. You can also go to Event Espresso > General Setting and for a time set “Enable full logging” to yes. This will log everything that happens behind the scenes while registrations happen. Then the next time you get a Moneris validation failure, you can check the general log file in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs. |
