After successfully registering for an event, the receipt shows “Chile/Easter Island” next to the event time. In WordPress, the Dashboard / Settings / TimeZone is set to “UTC-7”. Anticipating questions from registrants akin to “why is the vent taking place in Chile?”

Hi Francis,
You can correct this by changing your WP Timezone settings to match a city near you that’s in your timezone.

Is there any way to remove it altogether? If I change it to the nearest city X then there will be confused registrants asking if the event is really taking place in X.

Sure, you can remove it from the receipt.
Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Defautl message templates -> Receipt.
Within the DATETIME_LIST section you’ll find:
[DATETIME_START] - [DATETIME_END] ([DATETIME_TIMEZONE])
Remove the ([DATETIME_TIMEZONE]) and save the template.
That will remove the timezone output from your receipts.
