View Cart Link in Custom Menu Not Working During Checkout

I currently have a shopping cart icon in the menu on my site and have it linked to the ‘View Cart’ page. The link works perfectly throughout the site until getting into the registration/checkout pages. For example, when on the Attendee Information page during checkout, the view cart link in my menu doesn’t actually take me back to the cart. It just stays on the same page. However, the same exact URL for the built-in ‘return to cart’ button at the bottom of the same screen does return me to the cart. The URL for both shows as https://xxxxxxxx.com/registration-checkout/?uts=XXXXXXXXXXX&event_cart=view#checkout, but the EE one works correctly and my custom menu link doesn’t. Can you advise on how to setup the custom menu link so it works during the checkout process like it does throughout the rest of the site?

You should be able to use registration-checkout/?event_cart=view#checkout (no uts parameter) for the cart URL in the naviation menu.

Looks like all of your events require a log in to register, or I’m managing to randomly select the ones that do.

Can you either post a link to an event that doesn’t require log in, or send use credentials for a temp account we can use to view this?

You can use this form https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Note we don’t need admin credentials for this, just any account that is able to register on the event.

Ok, so the reason it is not working on your link is that Divi looks for anchor links (links with # in them) and overrides the default action so that those links always ‘scroll’ to the location if the ‘anchor’ in the link is on the page.

The easiest solution is to remove #checkout from your link and it should work fine. The only difference that should make to you is clicking that link will always refresh the page and won’t scroll down that page to the event cart, however, your cart is always at the top of the page and your header isn’t exactly tall so it should be fine.

IIRC Divi has a method (possibly adding a class to the link) to disable the scroll effect which would allow you to have both functions, but I haven’t used Divi in a long time so I’d recommend contacting their support for more info if you would like to take that route.
