My host is doing an upgrade on their server and has had probs migrating my site across.
There is one Db that is very large that seems to be the problem
Name: o7v2U4C18q_posts Type: MyISAM Size 1.1GiB
They advise there are lots of fields containing ref’ to EE.
I have about 115 events (currently all are expired) and about 350 registrations (plus payments)
Is there a setting I can use to reduce the size of this Db?
Any suggestions to reduce the size significantly most welcome.
There is no setting in EE to reduce the size of the DB.
The _posts table is a WordPress table used to store all of the posts on your site, ‘posts’ can be a little deceiving as they can be much more than posts and is used by almost everything installed on your site, including EE.
Problem is, that although your host mentioned there are lots of fields containing EE that doesn’t really help as we use _posts for various data (none of it should be large). Can they provide more details on what ‘fields’ they are referring to?
I checked the size of _posts on one of my EE test sites that has ~460 events and over 2,500 registrations, its size is 347MB, which also includes my posts, pages and various other ‘posts’ saved from other plugins. I suspect there is more to this than EE using that table but will happily investigate if they can provide more details.
