I’m doing free virtual classes by creating the event and adding the virtual venue.
I broadcast to YouTube then embed the stream and chat into the venue page. I do it this way to be able to list products on my website for sale under the live video on the venue page. I’m having a problem with the video size and chat. I just did a virtual event and it looked bad on a phone and most people watching on the venue had to go to YouTube to comment.
Can I not do what I want through Venues?

Hi there,

If I understand correctly and you are embedding the youtube video within the page and then someone views that on mobile they’ll either need to make that full screen or view it on the youtube app/site.

Can you link me to a venue page I can view this on? (You can mark your reply private so only EE staff can view it if preferred)

Yes, if I understand correctly.

Your live tickets stop selling on 2021-12-14, is that expected?

The live date for the event seems to be 2021-11-21, so shouldn’t those end on that date?

The replay tickets will go on sale from 2021-11-21 at 4pm (which is the end date of the live event), which I think is what you want and they stop selling on 2021-12-31 @ 5:10pm (same date as the Replay DateTime although 10mins ‘later’).

However, may I ask why you have the Replay datetime starting on 2021-11-21 and then through to 2021-12-31? What are you trying to do with that replay datetime?

Also when I create the reminder message do I use Automated Upcoming Event Notification or Automated Upcoming Datetime Notification? Thanks

I think you want to use the Datetime version.

To explain, the Event Notification will only be triggered once per event regardless of how many datetimes you have within that event.

The Datetime Notification is triggered once per DateTime within a single event.

Do you want a notification to be sent one for the Live Datetime and then once for the Replay datetime, or do you just want the notification for the Live datetime?

I want tickets to be on sale now for the 11/21/21 event happening at 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

With that latest screenshot, this is done.

I want replay tickets to be available after the event ends until 12/31/21 to people so they can still watch the video until that date.

Ticket wise, this is done.

Datetime wise, you might want to change the start date to match the end date. But before you change it let’s work out what it’s for first.

Right now its one long date that starts on 2021-11-21 and ends 2021-12-31 and you may not need it set up like that.

How are users using the Replay ticket/datetime? I get that it is to be used for users to view the replay video (through the venue, right?) but how exactly?

Then just the Event notification, you only want 1 notification and its for the earliest DateTime (which is what the event notification will use).

Right, so it’s basically a placeholder?

If you use the calendar add-on then it will show as one long event from the Event start date through until the Event End date on the calendar, but other than that it shouldn’t make much difference other than making that event show as ‘active’ as opposed to upcoming.

If you don’t use the calendar you can leave it as is and it should work fine.
