I have added a custom field to Venues which contains any special notes specific to a particular location. I am unable to find the shortcode [VENU_META_*] when editing the Registration Approved and Ticket templates to be able to display those notes.
How can I enable the [VENU_META_*] shortcode and why isn’t it enabled by default (or custom fields disabled)?

Hi there,
That’s actually a shortcode that hasn’t actually been built. The dev team (or someone with PHP skills that does a pull request on Github) will need to add a [VENUE_META*] shortcode before such shortcode can be used.
I’ve registered this as a suggestion and we will keep it in mind for future features and updates!

Update: The new [VENUE_META*] shortcode for messages is included in Event Espresso 4.9.46.p.
