After evaluating the demo and decaf version locally, EE4 is nearly perfect match. However, the event tickets to be sold online will be purchased from around the world and the company is based in Denmark.
This means that EU ticket-buyers with a valid VAT tax ID should be tax exempt as well as any buyer outside of the EU. Ticket-buyers in Denmark have a tax added as well as any EU buyer who does not have a valid VAT tax ID.
In reference to this, here are two examples where I found such functionality:
Eventbrite has a pretty straight forward way to deal with VAT exemptions – link.
Woocommerce has an extension that validates VAT id numbers using European VAT Rates & VAT Number Validation API in order to determine tax exemption.
Is there any plan for Event Espresso to add similar functionality? Alternatively, do you have any recommendations on how to achieve this with EE4 now?

Great, thanks. Hope to see this developed in the near future. It makes good business sense as the EU represents around 500 million people.
