Hi there, Thank you in advance. Alberto |

Hi, Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso. Event Espresso is primarily on online registration system, so the vast majority of it’s features cater to that. It can be used for offline services too, but depending on your exact set up and needs it may require custom coding to meet those needs. Generally you can add users manually by either adding them via the admin or via the front end like a normal registrant would. In EE3 there is an addon called Roles and Permissions Basic which allows the creation of an Espresso Admin, who has access to everything in Event Espresso, but no other areas of the site. If you have any specific questions please let me know. |

Hi Dean, You are also talking about a plugin in EE3. The thing that is hard for me to understand, is why there are two different version of the software (I mean EE3 and EE4). Thanks again, Alberto |

Hi,
Very hard to say, it really depends on what is needed. Some aspects can be done quite easily with basic CSS and PHP, some will require more in depth PHP knowledge and time.
The feature is there already, I think the issue is that it just hasn’t been made more user friendly and streamlined, because we do focus on the online registration more. It is something we have been toying with but I cant say if or when we would focus our energies on it, especially with EE4 still being added to and stabilised. I know for example, a lady in Finland is setting up a cinema with EE3 which I believe will take on site ticket purchases as well, and while I don’t know the full details, it seems like they are using the admin process to deal with that.
Well EE4 was supposed to be the next version, what actually happened is we re-wrote the plugin from scratch. As such it is different enough and better enough to be a reboot of Event Espresso. EE addons are not compatible with EE4 (we are building EE4 addons as we speak, the Calendar has already been released and some others are in the pipeline). EE4 does miss some features EE3 has but also has more features that EE3 does not have. Data from EE3 can be migrated to EE4 so long as the database hasnt been modified. A good article to read about the differences is here https://eventespresso.com/2014/02/event-espresso-4-beta-officially-released/ |

Hi there, And what if we need hard coding or custom functions? Thank you, Alberto |
Hi there Alberto, We try to share code snippets where possible but this would take more than a few lines of code. We do have a directory of Event Espresso professionals that could help you customize the software to meet your needs: https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/ — |

That’s great also because we already know we had to code a lot. Thank you! |
|
Hi Alberto, Unfortunately we can’t provide an answer to that. Giving out timescales is hard as we don’t know what issues we will face while developing. All I can really advise at the moment is that we are trying our hardest to get the addons created, stable and released as quickly as possible. |
|
But you can’t even guess if it will take months or years? |
|
Hi Alberto, It isn’t about guessing as such, it’s simply that we try not to release that information, as past experience has told us that users don’t appreciate it when we say it will be released and then isn’t due to whatever delays occur. We have a dedicated team of developers working on building the addons for EE4 and we are hopeful that these addons will be released sooner rather than later, but I cannot give a time scale, not even a guess. Sorry about that. |
