We have a new client that wants their new site to accept payments online for dues, workshops, group buys, etc. We plan to use EE4 with the calendar add-on, and hopefully it will provide that functionality. Is it practical to use EE4 to setup an event to collect dues throughout the year? The ‘dues event’ would start 1-1-2015 and end 12-31-2015, have unlimited tickets (registrations), and payment would be rendered via PayPal. Looking for guidance on how to direct the client conversations and development. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi,
Wouldn’t it be better to use a membership type system to obtain dues?
Otherwise you could create a year long event, though there will be no notification to the client/admin that it has expired.

I didn’t see an EE4 add-on for membership management, so using another plugin like s2member to manage the memberships and collect dues, and EE4 for the workshops and group buys would be the recommended approach.

I agree, using s2member or an equivalent would work best for collecting member dues.
