I have a desire to post notices on the calendar and not take registration. I have used the alternate registration page so the calendar links to the page instead but the “event” is still listed on the on the main registration page. Is there a way to not have an event on the main page but sill on the calendar?

You might try using the [EVENT_LIST category_identifier=your_category_identifier] on a new page to only show events in a certain category. Then assign the events that do not need registration to a different category than the rest of the events.
