I would like to redeem a support token to assist with installation and configuring of EE4, so per the instructions, I am starting a support thread.
Thanks,
Laura

Hey Katrina,

Alright, I have installed EE4 Core, Multiple Event Registration, and the Calendar add-on.

I have activated the Authorize.net AIM payment method, created a testing event, and ran through a test registration and payment with our Authnet credentials. Do you have an SSL (HTTPS) installed on the server? You will need that in order to remain PCI compliant.

Yes, we have an SSL cert in place. We’ve been using Authorize.net with WooCommerce Tickets, but that wasn’t the right solution for us, so that is why we switched to EE!

Is the next step to start adding Events and tickets? We obviously will need to put in the keys for Authorize.net, too. Do you know offhand if we will need to generate new ones?

Also, we have the Events Calendar Pro installed and populated. Once we add the events to EE, then will we switch out this page http://www.actmissouri.org/events/
for the EE calendar, since we have that add-on. Do we have to do anything extra as we are adding new events to make sure they show up in the calendar? I can also look the documentation, too, as I’m sure there’s information related to these questions available.

Thanks so much!!

Hi Katrina,

Re: SSL, okay, it doesn’t look like you are forcing HTTPS on all pages of the site. You can use a plugin like the HTTPS plugin to do that.

Yes. The next steps are adding Events and Tickets. You can remove the test events and registrations by deleting the transactions, then deleting the registrations and event.

You shouldn’t have to generate new Authorize.net keys. You can enter your keys under Event Espresso > Payment Methods > Authorize.net.

Once you deactivate Events Calendar Pro, you can add the [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] shortcode to your /events/ page. Also, all of your events are listed here: http://www.actmissouri.org/event-registration/. If you want to change that slug to something other than /event-registration/ you can do that in Event Espresso > Events > Templates.

Is there anything else I can do for you?

I think the force HTTPS settings were in the WooCommerce Ticket settings, not separate, so I’ll look into the other plugin. Thanks for telling me about that. I’m not sure I would have realized!

We would like to include the Authorize.Net seal on our check out pages (I noticed the EE site does, too!). Where can I paste that code, so it’s just in the cart?

For adding events, are these the correct instructions and I know there’s a tour in the demo, too: Event Espresso version 4 Documentation for Adding a New Event(In Progress)

Also, we don’t want to manually approve each order. Is there a setting to have them be marked as complete/final without doing it manually?

And finally, is every registration page the same? We may have some different fields that are needed based on the event. Can that be accomplished just by adding custom fields when creating the Event?

Thanks so much!!!

Hey Katrina,

I’m looking into a way to display that seal for you. Can you upload the image to your WordPress media for me? Or is there a link where we can get it?

Yes. That is the correct documentation for adding an event. Unless you made a change (which I don’t suspect you did), each registration should be marked as approved when the payment is approved. If you are seeing something different, please let me know.

You can add custom questions, add those questions to groups, then choose those question groups for the individual events. Note that we don’t have this functionality on a ticket level (yet), only on the event level.

Does that help?

Hi Katrina & Laura,

Is it possible for you to get the embed code for the Authorize.net AIM seal? If so, we can create a small plugin that will include the seal on the checkout page for you.

Katrina Wieberg

Thanks for the follow up! Here’s the code we were given:
<div class=”AuthorizeNetSeal”> <script type=”text/javascript” language=”javascript”>var ANS_customer_id=”34c40014-9552-4949-9c53-a11da8e5fa46″;</script> <script type=”text/javascript” language=”javascript” src=”//verify.authorize.net/anetseal/seal.js” ></script> Merchant Services </div>

Is this what you were looking for? Thanks!!

For some reason, when we go to view the event, it just loads the homepage. FYI, we had to turn off the force secure checkout plugin because the office has to manually set the IP address for some reason and we couldn’t access the site. I’ll have to tackle that at some point.
But can you help with why it wouldn’t preview?

Katrina Wieberg

September 18, 2015 at 12:17 pm

Ok. I switched the Event to be Published from Draft. and it is loading now. http://www.actmissouri.org/event-registration/2015-substance-abuse-prevention-conference/

Why does it say “We’re sorry, but ticket sales have been closed at this time. Please check back again later.” We have all the tickets set to go on sale this morning.

Thanks!

Jonathan Wilson

Hmmm. I checked it a few minutes ago and saw the “I’m sorry…” message, but now the tickets are showing. Did you change something?

Yes, that is the code we are looking for! I’ll get a simple plugin written up and installed for you. Then we can test it out.

Katrina Wieberg

September 18, 2015 at 12:51 pm

Yes, we had to change the max number of tickets available and then it worked! Sounds good about the plugin. Thanks you!!

A few other items…

Can we take off who “authored” the event?
Where to switch the FROM email? It’s currently set to be the admin, but we want it to be the general email?
How do we switch out Test mode with Authorize.Net?

You guys are awesome!

What if we don’t need to sell tickets for an event we want listed on the calendar?

Hi Katrina,

Can we take off who “authored” the event?

Can you explain this further please? Are you referring to the front end or within the admin?

Where to switch the FROM email? It’s currently set to be the admin, but we want it to be the general email?

By default the emails should be using the email address set within Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Your Organisation -> Primary Contact Email.

Is that not the case on your site currently?

How do we switch out Test mode with Authorize.Net?

Are you using a live auth.net net account or sandbox account?

If you using a live account you want to go to Event Espresso -> Payment methods -> Auth.net

Disable debug mode and disable test transactions – http://take.ms/W5Mab

What if we don’t need to sell tickets for an event we want listed on the calendar?

Within the event editor, set the ‘Display ticket selector’ option to No – http://take.ms/wIkiZ

The event will then display on the calendar, users can view details but not actually register.

With your auth.net seal, do you ant to include it from the beginning of the registration, like this – http://take.ms/P1pKy

Or only to be display on the payment selection section? This point – http://take.ms/vF3W4

In response to this question: Can we take off who “authored” the event?

We would like to remove the “By BigFish Creative” that is at the top of the page on our events. (http://www.actmissouri.org/event-registration/2015-substance-abuse-prevention-conference/)

For the Authorize.net seal, we would like it here: https://monosnap.com/file/acfNuw2nfRUcJCCphOXobTxxBUun4X

Thanks for the helpful info!!!

Hey Katrina,

It appears that you have figures out how to remove the “By BigFish Creative” from the top of the events pages. Is this so?

Regarding the Authnet seal; Tony wrote a small plugin for that, and I have installed it. You will notice it in the Plugins area. It’s called “EE Site plugin”. The plugin displays the Authnet seal starting on the Registration Checkout page.

Can you test that out and let me know how that works for you?

The seal is perfect. Thanks!!

And I didn’t adjust the author, but it looks great. : )

Ok great!

Is there anything else we can do? If not, I will go ahead and close this support token. 🙂

Hi Jonathan,
Sorry for the delayed response. We’ve been dealing with issues related to the forcing the SSL.

I do have one other question. We added the Upcoming Events widget to the homepage and it works great! Is there any way to change the code so that the first event (currently “MCA/MPPOA Fall Conference: Enriching our Criminal Justice Professionals”) is a little bit closer to the header (Upcoming Events). I would like to add 3 events, but there’s a lot of space between everything.

We are sooooooo pleased with the plugin and support. What a great solution!
Thanks!

Hi Katrina,

I added some CSS to adjust the styling for the upcoming events widget on the home page. Please go ahead and deactivate the temporary credentials that were provided.

Thanks again for using our priority support service!

I don’t think we ever responded, but the adjustments were perfect. Thanks so much!!
