Using a license key on both live and development sites

Hi there, I was wondering if it was possible to use a license key on different stages of development? We currently have 3 steps, from local, to staging and then finally local and ideally we’d like to use 1 key but across the 3 sites.

Is this possible?

Hi there,

It’s actually only possible to use the key on one domain. Event Espresso can be used on staging/local/dev sites without the key. It will function the same with or without the key.

Following up on this question, the plugin is out-of-date on our development site – as we have the license activated on our live site. I cannot deactivate on live and activate on dev (even temporarily) as I receive an error “Your support license key is only valid for one domain at a time, and our licensing system has detected that you are using your license key on multiple domains”. What steps should I take to keep both dev and live up-to-date?

You can do a manual update on the site without the key (doesn’t matter which site doesn’t have the key) where you deactivate, delete, then reinstall the current version from the latest zip file you download from you account page.
