Hello,
Sorry if this is an obvious one, but I did try searching the forums and documentation, including this page: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/accept-payments-event-espresso/
our users are not being taken back to the site after completing a payment for an event in Event Espresso.
They have to manually click “Return to _____” link when the payment is completed.
I went into our Paypal settings and tried to turn on “auto return” but it requires a URL.
I’ve heard before this shouldn’t be set up in Paypal for a plugin, but not sure if this is the case with your plugin.
Payment Data Transfer is not turned on either – do we need this?
I tried checking Payment settings as well in EE settings but couldn’t see anything related to this.
Your help is greatly appreciated. Our members may not know they need to click to return to the website to see their invoice, etc.

You can activate Auto return and input the URL for the EE thank you page to enable the auto return.
I’ve heard before this shouldn’t be set up in Paypal for a plugin, but not sure if this is the case with your plugin.

Thanks. I just realized something though. We have two other plugins that take transactions on our site:
Paid Memberships Pro
LearnDash
So this would mean that if we set the auto return on Paypal to lead to the EE4 thank you page, it would over ride the settings in those other plugins, and always lead people to that thank you page, instead of the one for the particular type of transaction.
So for example, if someone checks out and buys a membership, they would be redirected to the EE4 thank you page.
Right?
Is there a way to specify the auto return for event registrations only?

When you set the Auto Return URL in your PayPal account, you can put another URL there instead of Event Espresso’s Thank you page. The only requirement there is that you put a URL there. Event Espresso will then automatically specify its URL when it sends the fields to PayPal during the event transaction.
