We are at the point of purchasing the software for our piano lesson studio implementation but I am confused about what the new EE4 can and cannot do. So can you let me know which version can do the following:
Allow users to login with a unique ID when signing up for events
Allow users to retrieve previous registrations
Allow users to store information about themselves and their children who they are signing up for classes
Allow us to enter events on multiple days/times
Support discount codes (early bird-registrations – although this can be done probably with different ticket types)
Allow us to provide discounts for registrations to multiple events.
Allow us to accept registrations for users who will be paying by check and mark those registrations off (so that we don’t oversell our classes)

Do any versions support calendar holidays so for recurring events such as classes that miss a particular day due to a holiday the class is extended past that date (and the calendar displays HOLIDAY- no classes)

We don’t want to start implementing our solution with one version only to find out that the version doesn’t support what we are doing.
Thank you!

Hi AnnC,

Event Espresso 3 has the WP Users Integration (https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-members/) add-on so that your audience can create an account and login to re-use personal information when re-registering for events (name, address, email address). Users can also log in and see their Profile screen to see their registration history and edit their profile. We do not store child information unless they are a user themselves.

We do have a Volume discount add-on that can help configure discounts for multiple registrations, but it is not fully developed. The volume discount add-on is available as-is in the Pre-release Channel: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/pre-release-channel-guide/

You can accept registrations via check, and mark those registrations as Approved if you like so that the event does not oversell.

Event Espresso does not know which holidays you honor, nor whether you can to re-schedule or cancel them. You will need to configure your event dates individually or with the Recurring Events Manager (https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-recurring/) you can set it up on a schedule. But in the case that a class falls on a holiday for you, you will have to administer the appropriate change.

I hope that helps. Let me know if I can do anything else for you.

Thank you. What user data are you able to store in EE4? You must at least have email addresses and reports could be generated by email id? Also, I saw there is a mailchimp integration plugin and mailchimp does have the ability to store numerous fields for every list that users subscribe to. Is it possible to retrieve this data from mailchimp via the plugin and use it in the registration process?

Do you have an ETA on WP-user module for EE4?

Hi,

Here is an example of the information that is stored for a registrant/attendee:

Retrieving information via MailChimp would require custom coding and we would not be able to write that custom coding for you.

The WP user integration for Event Espresso 4 is under development. It will enter a testing period after development finishes.

We’ll then announce it on our blog once it is ready.
