Urgent:EE Registration not working on production site, all prices reset to blank

We have multiple events on our production site open to registration. As of the day before yesterday, whenever anyone tries to register for an event, the price shows up as blank on the last page when someone enters their information to register, so it does not continue onward to paypal gateway and they are unable to make payment, the form resets to a blank page.

We looked around, could not find source of problem, but we noticed that the time stamp on all files had been reset to Nov 17. Was there any kind of auto update rolled out? Could it have caused this problem? Need to fix asap, as this is our production site. Issue can be checked on one or our pages here – https://www.ishausa.org/register/national/

Hi there,

The updates do not get pushed automatically, but require that someone click through an update notice and click an update link.

Issues after an update can usually be resolved by updating or removing any older template files from a previous version of Event Espresso from /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. There is a utility in the Event Espresso>Template settings that will automatically rename this directory for you, so that the new version’s templates can load in order for Event Espresso to function correctly.

We get a message “Event Espresso attendee data needs to be updated. Please visit the Support page to configure update the attendee information” and in the support page, when we click on “Run attendee update script”, it runs but does not solve any issues. If we log out and login back, we get the same warning message that EE attendee data needs to be updated.

Also, we went back to checked the folder “/wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates” and we do not see any new templates or updates. All of them are dated at least few months back.

Hi there,

Event Espresso doesn’t update anything in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates, so the files that are located there will need to be removed or updated manually.

When templates in /uploads are out of sync with the current version, Event Espresso will not function correctly, which will cause the attendee data errors. What you can do is address the out of sync templates first, then manually update the attendees that have registered since the update.
