URGENT: NEED TO ROLLBACK TO PREVIOUS VERSION

Updated Event espresso to version 5.0.3 and it stopped working because our site is running php 7.3 but when I update to 7.4 there’s some kind of conflict because I keep getting a Critical Site Error that goes away with a refresh or two but that’s obviously not acceptable – need to roll back Event Espresso until I can get it resolved. Please help.

OK thank you. I’m running into an issue of “the site has encountered a critical error” when I try to update to PHP7.4 but the error is intermittent. If I get it then refresh the page, the site is back. Sometimes pages don’t load all the way (only the menu) but hitting refresh brings it back up. No idea why so I’m trying to backtrack through plug ins now but I may have to stick with 7.3 in the meantime as it’s critical registrations continue.

OK thank you. I’m running into an issue of “the site has encountered a critical error” when I try to update to PHP7.4 but the error is intermittent.

That’s a ‘pretty’ error shown on the front end, to troubleshoot this I would need the ‘real/ugly’ error being thrown and that would usually be saved in sites error logs. Your host will usually have a section in your control panel for viewing PHP error logs, if you check that and look at the timestamps for around when you were getting the above, can you see an error there?

No idea why so I’m trying to backtrack through plug ins now but I may have to stick with 7.3 in the meantime as it’s critical registrations continue.

Without the error being thrown above I can only guess as to what the issue might be.

If you reinstall the version I gave you above that should get the site back up ad running in the meantime, but I need the error thrown to troubleshoot further.

Thanks Tony, got the older version reinstalled and will take a look at the control panel and try to find the error log
