I’ve had my client send me an email with this screenshot from someone trying to register on the site at tocift.org

Can you help me? I’ve checked the forum and I see several different things can cause it, and I don’t even know where to start on them. Also, they looked like older posts, so I’m not sure if they are still valid.

My theme and plugins are up to date.

I have not been able to reproduce the problem on my end. How can I know when it’s been fixed, or do we just have to wait and see if we get more emails?

If you want to try to register to test it, that’s fine. I can always delete the registration.

Ran a debug test on Firefox and got this:

On Edge I get this:

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Chrome’s debug has this error, though I can not reproduce the error on Chrome. The customer did have the problem on Chrome.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Laura

I was able to reproduce the problem on both Firefox and Edge (Explorer).

I have also noticed that I am not seeing the reCAPTCHA on the page in Chrome, but I am seeing it with an error message on the other browsers from the registration page.

Hi Laura,

The problem is from the reCaptcha and reCaptcha is only shown to logged out users, so I’m guessing on Chrome you’re logged in.

Looking at your site I do see the reCaptcha using Chrome, and I get the error – http://take.ms/FuHOY

Invalid site key means the key you have set in Event Espresso -> Registration -> Reg form setting -> reCAPTCHA Anti-spam Setting is invalid.

I know from your previous thread HERE that the EE reCaptcha was working fine after the site moved, so has someone altered the keys?

Possibly, when I was trying to work out the previous issue. I can get the keys and check. What do I do with them?

Thanks,

Laura

Hi Laura,

You can compare the keys to what’s set in Event Espresso -> Registration -> Reg form setting -> reCAPTCHA.

That seems to have worked. Do you mind testing from your end as well?

Thanks!!!

Looks fine on my end, so just to confirm, you now have the same keys in use for both EE and whatever was adding the reCaptcha to your contact page?

Yes. That is correct. Thank you!!
