Upgraded, events list not working

  1. My page with events lists uses this: [raw] [EVENT_LIST
    show_recurrence=true order_by=date(start_date),id limit=50] [/raw]

    This code has always worked. However the events that we recently changed to “ongoing” to resolve the registration page problem (didn’t want one) were not displaying and you advised us to upgrade to the latest version which we have done. But now since upgrading (all my espresso components) this page only shows non-ongoing and thye stopped in april. The page is this: http://www.thetangoclub.com/our-calendar-events/events-list/.
    This is really important for us since we can’t make the calendar work and right now our members can’t see anything useful. What I want is a list of all events from today no matter what type and including recurring and ongoing.

Please help me sort this one out fast,

Thank you

Make sure that the templates in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates are up to date. For example, if there is a copy of the event_list.php template from the previous version, it’s not compatible with the current version.

Josh,
They are I copied them into uploads yesterday and was annoyed with myself because I had made some customisations and forgot to backup the old versions to check what I had changed

So that I understand the problem correctly, none of the ongoing or recurring events are showing up in the list? Make sure these other events are open for registration (whether you’ll be displaying a reg form or not).

Dear Josh,

Yes, none of the ongoing events, all of which are recurring show. I beleive they are open for registration (although we don’t want registration). I have checked several and they look alright to me. One example is http://www.thetangoclub.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=events&action=edit&event_id=899. A ong time ago I created a “Seth” user if you want to look in the backend.
thanks, liz

I don’t have the information you set up for Seth.

Verify that these ongoing, recurring events have registration end dates that are in the future.

Did you try setting the registration end date into the future? You can also try adding show_expired=true to the EVENT_LIST shortcode.

Eg. [raw] [EVENT_LIST
show_recurrence=true order_by=date(start_date),id limit=50 show_expired=true] [/raw]

Dear Seth,

I have a suspicion that this may be a similar problem to the one I have logged about the Espresso Widget, I imagine it uses a similar if niot the same data retrieval code and It would seem that it starts on the first data of the first event that is “ongoing”.

I don’t think that showing expired will work, I want it to list events from today going forward and including recurring and ongoing events.
Ass the recurring events calculate their reg end dates based on a formula so anything from today should ahve a reg end date in the future so i son’t think it’s that.

This list would be very useful but right now I can’t use it.

I have resolved a number of long-standing problems in the last few days so i am hoping we can so the same with this one,

Thank you………….. liz

Have you checked the registration end dates for those events?
