Hi,
Right after upgrade to WordPress 5.6, my event espresso calendar gets completely messed up. Restoring back to rpevious WordPress solves the problem. Any ideas?

Hi,
After upgrade to WordPress 3.6, my event espresso calendar is messed up, with some things not showing or showing incorrectly. Rolling back to the prevvious version of Worddpress solves the problem. Any ideas?

Hi there,

I’m not running into any issues with the Calendar on WP5.6 so I can’t reproduce currently.

Do you have a development copy of the site running 5.6 that I can view the calendar on?

Hi Tony,
I set up a staging copy and sent you the details in a private message. Of course, I understand if you have today off and this is no rush, but I just want to to make sure you have it and will get to it when you can.

Happy Holidays.

Hi there,

I did manage to take a look at this and can reproduce locally.

It looks like this may be an issue with the library we use for the calendar itself as the width calculations are all correct/the same as with prior versions.

I’ve created a ticket to investigate this further.

Whilst not ideal, the issue only happens when events span across multiple weeks in the calendar, so for the time being, would it work if it just showed up on the start date? Meaning the events that show up on the 4th as a thin band would show as a single day rather than spanning the full event duration.

Hi,
Sorry for the late response. I’m glad you could reproduce it. Unfortunately, all the events for this site happens across multiple weeks. These are classes. So, no, it is not ideal. Do you have any progress on the issue?

So far, it looks like an issue with the version of a library we use to generate the calendar and the change to use the latest jQuery in WP5.6+

So one option that could help is to use the jQuery migrate plugin available here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/

Install and activate then go to Dashboard -> Tools -> jQuery Migrate.

Under ‘jQuery Version’ select ‘Legacy 1.12.4-wp’ and save.

That should fix the calendar but if any other code on your site relies on functions from the latest jQuery version it may brake those, so double check your site functions as intended as the above.

It’s not intended as a permanent solution but should get you a working calendar whilst we investigate.

Maybe another option would be not to upgrade to WordPress 5.6 until this is resolved?

If that’s what you prefer to do, I don’t recommend staying on older versions other than the above usage of jQuery but it is an option.

Did as you advised, with jquery migrate, and it works. Will you please somehow announce when the issue is fixed with calendar?
Many thanks.

Sure, we post all of our updates here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

Just so you are aware, there is a calendar release due out today but that will not fix the problems you’ve reported here.
