Hello, I did not get an alert in the dashboard that an update was available. That’s the first concern. The next is that I attempted a manual upgrade using the plugin upload page. WP says it was successful but how can I verify? My EE plugin folder still shows the previous version number. Should the version number on the login directory name change to reflect the true version? Thanks

Hi emoria, Are you seeing the 3.1.25 (or older version) on the Help/Support page? If that’s the case then we’re aware of it. I looked at your website source code and it says it has 3.1.26.P so you should be fine. |

I am seeing 3.1.26.P on the Help/Support page but the plugin folder still has the last version number in the name. Folder name: wp-content/plugins/event-espresso.3.1.22.2.P |
You can rename the folder via ftp. In fact, you should, because keeping the version in the folder name may cause problems with the update script. (Just to clarify, the plugin does not change the directory name on an upgrade.)

If I change that folder name will I break anything? Will I have to change paths anywhere? |
|
Well that’s what I get for skipping on the instructions. half my plugins still have the version name in the folder name. I’m going to test the name change but I’m sure its will mess up pathing somewhere if you can let me know where I’ll need to make those changes it will be appreciated. |

Guys, Thanks for your help. I did in fact install the plugins incorrectly by leaving the version numbers on the folders. I have fixed this and reinstalled them properly. I look forward to seeing the auto update function working next time. |
Any of the plugins available to download on the account page shouldn’t have version numbers in the folder names, so I would recommend manually updating to these versions. |

So there is no EE plugin that should have the version number in the folder name when viewing the plugin directory correct? I removed all the version numbers from all the EE plugin folders and reactivated. Please confirm this is correct. When I orginially downloaded some of the plugins there were version numbers in the folder names and so they were created like that. And since this thread is named upgrade I figure I’ll asky my license conversion question here. I have purchased many of the plugins over the last week one by one when I should have just purchased the business license. Considering the amout I’ve paid for them collectivly is it possible to convert my licesne from personal to business? |
|
you can disregard the question about the business license that has been answered. But please do let me know about the folder names. |
That is correct.
That’s because that’s how we originally packaged them before the automatic update system.
Looks like that’s already been done. |

Thanks again for your great support. |

Hello, Sorry to open this again but I’m having two issues. One is that my license key still seems to be having issues and the other is that my WP still thinks Basic is installed. How can I clean out the remnant of basic? I’m assuming its in the DB somewhere because the plugin is gone. See messages below.

@emoria I reset your license key. Next thing to do is follow the instructions I posted here: Please let us knwo if that helps or not. |

That worked, Thanks! |
