I would like to update on the staging site first to test it before I update the live site. Unfortunately, I am unable to update EE4 on my staging site because of the following message: “A valid Support License Key is needed to enable automatic upgrades. Your current account does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.” I am not sure how to proceed as this staging website is part of the same domain as the live site. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
The license key is valid for a single site so can only be used on one site at a time, although we do allow for some staging subdomains (your domains don’t match those checks currently)
There are actually 2 different sites pinging our servers with your key currently:
staging-pm****
staging-six****
To test updates on those sites you can update EE3 manually:
In short, download the latest version to your machine from your account page.
De-activate and delete the current version installed (We recommend creating a backup first just to be safe)
Install the new version in Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload plugin.
Activate the new version.
You will not lose any of your EE data when you do the above steps.
Are you looking at switching to EE4 or just updating EE3 to the latest version? (Note that EE4 is not just an update to EE3, it’s a totally new system)
