Hi, I am trying to update the plugin via my plugins admin page in WordPress, but get the following error:

Update failed: Could not copy file. event-espresso-core-reg/modules/invalid_checkout_access/EED_Invalid_Checkout_Access.module.php

I do not normally have any issue.

Additionally, I have been having intermittent problems with a few people unable to finish and pay for registrations. They get a “Forbidden” message.
So, I am also trying to switch to PayPal Commerce from PayPal Pro and PayPal Express, but when I click the “Connect with PayPal” button, I get this message:
This page isn’t working
If the problem continues, contact the site owner.
HTTP ERROR 400

I have WP 6.2.2 installed

Thank you for your help.

Can you try to Download the latest plugin in your EE Account page. then upload it manually to your site?

Then try to switch PayPal commerce after that.

thanks

OK, I was able to update EE and switch to PayPal Commerce and get it connected. It seems to be connected successfully.

I also updated to WordPress 6.3.1.

However, payments are not going through. The logs say “Unable to find transaction.” Please let me know what I can do, thanks.

Hi there,

It looks like CleanTalk Spam Protect is blocking the connection, can you try disabling that plugin?

Hi Tony, I disabled CleanTalk. Are you able to check it again?

We had it installed because we were getting spam registrations and payments. Do you know if there is a URL I can exclude in CleanTalk, or is it totally incompatible?

Thank you.

I disabled CleanTalk. Are you able to check it again?

I checked and can see the Order ID is now being set on the page, have you had any successful payments since disabling it?

We had it installed because we were getting spam registrations and payments.

Have you enable reCaptcha?

Event Espresso -> Registration form -> Reg Form Settings.

There is a link to generate your reCaptcha key, I recommend using Invisible recaptcha which requires a v3 key.

Do you know if there is a URL I can exclude in CleanTalk, or is it totally incompatible?

I recommend opening a support ticket with them to discuss this, I don’t know in depth how CleanTalk works nor what is triggering it from blocking the request.

If they have a filter available we may be to hook into that and prevent the request from being blocked, but we would need more details from them.

PayPal Commerce seems to be working now since disabling Clean Talk.

Do you know if using BlogVault Firewall will cause any problems?

We cannot assure you if it will work or not, but I don’t see any report regarding that plugin. But it’s better that you can install then make some test on your site.

thanks.
