We provide ‘one-click’ updates but we do not force updates onto your server automatically. You would need to go to Dashboard -> Plugins and start the update from there.
However when you say the latest version, do you the latest version of Event Espresso 3 (currently 3.1.37.5.p) or upgrading to Event Espresso 4?
And, how can I be certain that we don’t have issues when we update?
I remember from previously working on issues on your site that your developer has set this up differently than we would normally expect so in this case I would very highly recommend setting up a development copy of the site. This can be on the same server as your current site under a subdomain or locally. That way you can run the updates on the development copy of the site first and test for issues.
