Quilting on the Beach

My website is in “Complete Maintenance” mode and I cannot figure out how to backup my database. I purchased a support token but don’t understand some of the required fields on the support token submission form.
Thnaks for your help!

Hi Karen,

How are you today?

So, did you not submit the support token form yet?

Generally speaking, you will need to do the following. Once we have access we can help with this:

1) Create a backup of your database, likely using the tools provided by your hosting provider. You can probably contact them and ask for help doing this if necessary.
2) Run the migration process in Event Espresso > Maintenance and follow the prompts to run the migration scripts as necessary (one or a few clicks).
3) When the migrations are complete, your event pages will be back online and available.

You are welcome to do some of that yourself, or give us access and we can work on that for you.

Hi Garth, thanks so much for your reply. No, I have not submitted the support token form yet.
If my website is on WordPress then are they the hosting provider?

I logged into SiteGround and tried to create a backup. I paid for a one time manual backup, but although it processed my payment, it just keeps taking me back to a payment needed page; I don’t get the Backup in Progress message that is supposed to show up. I know that SiteGround is not your company, but their Support AI can’t seem to help me.

Hi there,

For the above you’ll need to contact SiteGround and ask them what is going on (I’d love to help with it, but we don’t have any control over SiteGround).

Using your hosts backup solution is generally the best backup method to have, however, I can tell you another option to create your own backup so you can move forward.

On the site go to Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new plugin.

Search for Updraft: https://monosnap.com/file/07kluaTMWoT06ByNf6o14JwGylvo4U

Next to ‘UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin’ click the Install now’ button, then activate.

Now in the admin go to Settings -> UpdraftPLus Backups.

Click the Backup Now button.

You want at least the database included in the backup:

Click backup now.

Once complete, you should have a backup of the site’s database.

You can now run through the migrations for Event Espresso.
