Since the latest to update to Event Espresso, the Upcoming Events Widget gives an error message on the pages where it is used with Elementor saying, “You do not have the required privileges to perform this action”. This error happens in Safari and Firefox, but not Chrome.

Hi there,

Odd! Are you logged into the same account on all 3 browsers?

Using an admin account?

No, I’m only logged in on Chrome with an admin account, and that’s the one browser that works for me. I didn’t even realize there was an error until someone else reported it, so it’s not just me seeing it.

Wait, so are you’re seeing this error on the front end when logged out or just within the admin when editing the page/widget?

I’ve just created a couple of pages using Elementor and put in the EE Upcoming Events Widget with it but I’m not getting any errors when using an admin or editor account.

Can you add some details on how you have this set up, please? I need to reproduce it to troubleshoot.

Here is the system info:
WordPress Version: 6.6.2
PHP Version: 8.1.29
MySQL Version: 8.0.39
Event Espresso Version: 5.0.26.p

I rolled back the version of Elementor, hoping that would fix it but it still gave the same message. I plan on deactivating the other plugins and theme, to make sure there is not a conflict there.

It did, however, put this message in my error log:

WordPress database error Unknown column ‘wp_terms.slug’ in ‘where clause’ for query SELECT SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS wp_posts.*, MIN( wp_esp_datetime.DTT_EVT_start ) as event_start_date
FROM wp_posts LEFT JOIN wp_term_relationships ON (wp_posts.ID = wp_term_relationships.object_id) INNER JOIN wp_esp_datetime ON ( wp_posts.ID = wp_esp_datetime.EVT_ID )

wp_term_relationships.term_taxonomy_id IN (146)
) AND wp_posts.post_type = ‘post’ AND ((wp_posts.post_status = ‘publish’)) AND wp_esp_datetime.DTT_EVT_end > ‘2024-09-18 17:54:23’ AND wp_terms.slug IN (‘training’) AND wp_esp_datetime.DTT_deleted = 0
