Upcoming Event/Datetime notification and [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED] shortcode

Hi
We have recently implemented the Automated Upcoming Event Notification addon, and have set up the Event Reminder and Datetime reminder templates. The customer wants to display the number of tickets the registrant has purchased so are using the [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED] shortcode in the TICKET_LIST area. Is this the right shortcode?

We have registrants who have each purchased only one ticket for an event, and this shortcode is showing the number 3. As it’s causing confusion I have commented this out, but want to reinstate a solution.

Kind regards,

Anita

Hi Anita,

That’s the correct shortcode. When you look at the sent messages in Event Espresso > Message Activity is it showing 3 in every message?

Hi Josh,

Had a look at the message activity. Thankfully only 14 messages.

RYA Assistant Sailing Instructor course
7 total registrations, all with the same type of ticket. Each message shows [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED]=7
4 people bought 1 ticket – I would have expected [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED] to be 1;
1 person bought 3 tickets- I would have expected [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED] to be 3.

RYA Seamanship Skills
3 total registrations, 2 types of ticket
2 messages show [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED]=2, 1 shows [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED]=1
2 people bought the first ticket type – I would have expected [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED] to be 1;
1 person bought the second ticket type – I would have expected [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED] to be 1.

RYA Sailing Level 2
4 total registrations, 2 types of ticket
3 messages show [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED]=1, it doesn’t look as though the other message was generated
3 people bought the first ticket type – I would have expected [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED] to be 1;
1 person bought the second ticket type – not sure why the message for this was not generated.

Other courses/tickets were ok as there was only 1 registration so far.

—————–

It looks like [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED] is the total number of tickets of a particular type purchased, rather than the total number of tickets bought by the registrant. This doesn’t make sense on an email sent to an individual registrant.

Kind regards,

Anita

Sorry typo. But rather important.
For the RYA Sailing Level 2 the three messages that were sent all read [TKT_QTY_PURCHASED]=3

Thanks for the detailed report. I’ll create an issue on GitHub so the developers can look into this.
